Famous places in Uttarpradesh , Uttrakhand ,Tripura and West Bengal




Govind Dev temple – It was constructed by raja Man singh.
Iskon Temple- It is animpressive temple with novel construction. Iskcon stands for the international society for Krishna consciousness.It was founded by Srila Prabhupada in New York in 1966.The movement has built a number of temples of Lord Krishna all over the world including in the USA ,Ausralia ,India ,Germany etc.ISKCON has more than 400 centres.It is known in India for its social service work.
Pagal Baba Temple- It is a white temple with contemporary architecture pieces .Around the temple puppets show more gestures depicting epics such as Mahabharat and Ramayana.
Kashi Vishwanath – Lord Shiva is the main deity in the Kashi ,also known Vishwanath temple,located inn the Indian city of Kashi also known as Benaras and Varanasi .The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas ,the most holy shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.The city of Kashi is believed to be obe of the oldest cities in the world with the history of more than 3500 years.The present Temple was built by the Queen Ahilya Holkar. The temple has been demolished and rebuilt many times.In Hindu religion , a visit to the temple and a bath in holy Ganga River is supposed to most auspicious.

Bhuvaneswari Temple- It is situated on the bank of Gomati at Udaipur in Tripura . The Tripura Bhuvaneswari Temple is immortalized in two of Rabinranath Tagore’s plays namely Rajarshi and Bisharjan.
The Kamlasagar Kali Temple- It is situated at Kasba and it is also known as Kasba Kali Bari about 27 km away from Agartala, the state capital Kamlasagar Kali Temple in Tripura is raised on a hillock over looking a vast lake called kamla sagar.
TripuraSundari Temple – This temple is situated in Tripura .It is regarded as one of the 51 pithasthanas of Hindu Pilgrims in India .The Tripura Sundari Temple consists of squre type sanctum of the typical Bengali –hut style construction with a conical dome and stands gloriously on a hillock at Udaipur in Tripura.
West Bengal
Bansuli Temple- It is an important place of visit as this temple is believed to be constrcted in th Gupta rule .
Bhagwati Temple- It is nearly 150 years old and is an amazing piece of architecture .Te Dakshineswar Kali temple is connected with Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa and visiting this temple is significant.
Brindabanchandra Temple-It is one among the largest temples and is encircled by many small temples dedicated to Chaitanya Guru , the saint who is well known for his dedication to Lord Krishna .During the temple tours visiting the Barakar temple sited adjacent to asansol is essential .
Dakshineswar Kali Temple- it is located alongside the vivekanand Bridge north of Kolkata .It is believed that saint Ramakrishna Paramahamsa achieved spiritual vision in this place .This temple is dedicated to goddess Kali.
Madhyamaheshwar – Madhyamaheshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Shiva ,located in the Mansuna village of Garwal in Uttrakhand. It is the fourth temple to be visited in the panch kedar pilgrimage circuit ,comprising of five Shiva temples in the Garhwal region.
Badrinath Dhaam- It is considered as one of the most sacred centres of pilgrimage situated in the lofty Himalyan heights in the Tehri –Garhwal hill tracks at the height of 10248 feet above sea level.
Chandi Devi Temple ,Haridwar – It is dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi .The temple also known as neel Parvat Teerth is one of the Panch Tirth ( Five Pilgrimages) located within Haridwar.
Daksheshwara Mahadev- Daksheshwar Mahadev is dedicated to Lord Shiva ,located in the town of kankhal ,about 4 km from Haridwar.
Gopinath Temple- It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva .It is located at Gopeshwar , in Uttaranchal.
Kedarnath-It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is located at the sources of the river Mandakini .Kedarnath is also one of the most important temples in the Himalyas ,amongst the major Shiva temples of the country.The temple is located in a cave in a mountain of ice.Pilgrims travel from all over the world to visit this temple.The temple is located at a altitude of 3888 m.
Mahasu Devta Temple- It is located on te Tyuni –Mori road at Hanol .The temple is dedicated to Mahasu Devta.
Mansa Devi Temple – It is known for being the holy abode of mansa ,a form of Shakti and is said to have emerged from the mind of the sage Kashyapa.
NeelKanth Mahadev Temple-It is a hindu Temple dedicated to Nilkanth (Lord Shiva ).The temple is situated at a height of 1330 meters and is located about 32 km from Rishikesh in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttrakhnad .
Rudranath – It is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Shiva ,located in Uttrakhand . This temple is the third temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit,comprising of Five Shiva temples in the Garhwal region.
Shree Moteshwar Mahadev Temple- Shree Moteshwar Mahadev temple is also known as Shree Bheem Shankar Mahadev .It is an abobe of Lord Shiva in Kashipur .Tis place was known as the Dakini state in ancient days.
Surkunda Devi – This beautiful temple is situated at the small resort hamlets of Dhaunolty in Tehri District. It is situated at the very high hill.It is covered with snow in winters time.There are many idols of devi shakti and a very huge idol of Lord Hanuman.This is the place where Lord Shiva is situated in his full face as a jyotirlingam known as bheem Shankar.This is the bheem Shankar Jyotirlinga.
Tunganath –It is the heighest temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest panch keadar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in the Chamoli district of Tihri Garhwal ,It and is second in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars
